Palliative Care

Specialized symptom and pain management for someone with a serious illness — at any stage, with or without curative treatment.

What they don't tell you

Hospice is a type of palliative care for end of life. Palliative care is the broader umbrella — you can have it during chemo, after a stroke, at any age. It's chronically underused in the US because doctors don't refer and families don't know to ask.
