Hospice

Comfort-focused care for someone with a terminal diagnosis and a life expectancy of six months or less.

What they don't tell you

Medicare pays for hospice 100%. It can happen at home, in a hospice facility, or inside a nursing home. Hospice is not 'giving up' — research consistently shows hospice patients often live longer than similar patients pursuing aggressive treatment. The hardest part is the timing. Most families wait too long.
